I'm just using this as a trial ballon... A few comments regarding our Q & A with Marc Prensky last Wednesday PM:
Q. Appropriate use of technology?
A. Technology only used to help students learn. Teachers don't need to know the tech stuff, kids do. Kids can teach each other or the teacher if need be.(This gets at the role and perceived value of the teacher--fountain of all knowledge vs. coaching students. Only teacher knows the things kids need. Wow, this will challenge our thinking.)
A. How to instill relevance?
Q. Real work better description than relevant.
Other:
- Talk to kids (survey) regarding ways they learn best, use technology, what tech they use, etc.
